Larry Scott
Westside
Guide
Hi!
My name is Larry Scott, owner of Westside Guide Service. We have teamed up with
more professional guides to better serve you, both in fresh and salt water. We
are located just outside of the city of Forks, Washington, also known as
"The Steelhead Capitol of the World," on the northern tip of the
Olympic Peninsula.
Whether you're in pursuit of giant Chinook, fiesty silver Salmon or trophy
Steelhead, my 30 years of guiding experience will place you in front of the
famous fish that call these rivers home!
Anyone that's serious about Steelhead fishing or Salmon
fishing has heard these names: Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Hoh, Calawah, Quillayute,
Queets, upper Quinault, Cowlitz, Lewis and Kalama -- some of the most beautiful,
scenic and pristine rivers that you will ever see. They are also home to the
healthiest runs of native and hatchery Salmon and Steelhead anywhere in North
America. Nowhere in the country are more 20-30lb Steelhead landed annually
than in the majestic rivers of Forks, Washington. Couple that with numerous 20+
lb. Silvers and Kings tipping the scales to 50-60 lbs. being caught every year,
and you can see how this town got its nickname. For your fishing trip, we
will custom cater to your skill level, fishing method, and your desires as a
fisherperson. Only the finest equipment and gear will be utilized.
Columbia
River Tributaries
Cowlitz, Lewis, and Kalama
Spring, Summer and Fall
fishing on the mighty Colombia river tributaries.
The Cowlitz, Lewis and Kalama rivers have some of the best fishing in Washington
state. Spring kings on the Lewis river in April and May is the best fishing you
could ask for. These Hot kings tip the scales between 10-30lbs.
Best table fare there is!
The Cowlitz river provides the hottest summer steelhead action in the
state. Big summer steelhead weight between 7-20+ lbs. and tail
walk like tarpon! Fall salmon fishing on the Cowlitz and Lewis rivers for kings
and silvers is some of the best in the country. Kings weight in from 12-50 lbs.
Silvers come in the rivers by the thousands. Ranging from 6-20 lbs. A great fish
to catch and put on the BBQ, smoke or have the neighbors over for dinner!
A new 2007, 23ft. Alumaweld Super Vee Pro sled has been added to
the fleet, they can host up to 5-6 clients per/boat. Very safe, comfortable and
roomy boats. We specialize in corporate accounts and large groups! All rods,
reels, tackle, and bait are included, but feel free to bring along your favorite
rod and tackle, if you would like. Expect a full day of fishing (about 7-8
hrs).
Drift fishing, float fishing, side drifting, back trolling plugs or bait,
vertical fishing, and back bouncing are the most widely used and effective
fishing techniques. We also specialize in fly fishing for Steelhead, Salmon, and
Trout.
